It is rightly said that the future lies in the hands of the youth of today. Today’s generation have come out of the shackles of social evils that bound their ancestors. They have broken the chains of social evils like traditions, religious beliefs, superstition, which come in the path of progress and development and hamper the growth of individuals as well as the nation as a whole.
The youth today are more enthusiastic, well-read and much aware of the problems facing the society and the economy. There is also no doubt in saying that they have fresher ideas and new approaches, they have problem-solving capability with critical analysis and all these prove to provide a better solution and a newer way of handling and facing any problem or situation that may arise. They are well-aware of problems like corruption, terrorism, nepotism, bias and unfair influence which many politicians today have failed to counter and in fact have silently become a part of it. There have been several initiatives by students of today to have movements for causes like terrorism, social evils, and human rights and so on. This shows their enthusiasm, passion and burning desire to open up the minds of people and to think from a wider perspective.
This is thus the very essence of why there should be a student parliament. These days students are interested in a plethora of subjects and there are numerous domains, whose knowledge can be applied to making the nation a better one. Since, at this young age, when students have jus graduated and are putting their first step into the real world, everyone is determined to put their best foot forward, in order to make a mark and to gain recognition and power.
