Selection Process for Student Parliament in India

The thought that comes to one’s mind when we hear about elections or selecting candidates, is one associated with rigging, cohesion or fraudulent ways of forcing people to vote for a certain person for power, money and fame.

The Bharatiya Chhatra Sansad is dedicated to the task of bringing student leaders on a common platform, sensitizing them towards the noble cause of nation building. Bharatiya Chhatra Sansad that is being organized from January 12-14, 2011, at MIT Campus in Pune, aims at changing the mindset of people in this matter.

The selection process for the Student Council is fair and transparent and free from any discrepancies. There are around 10,000 colleges which are invited to participate in this programme. Each college elects or nominates its ‘Student Council (SC)’, which represents the students of that college in the university to which it is affiliated.
